HEALTH BENEFITS OF VOLCANIC ASH
|
|
Volcanic
ash skin care has been used for centuries by the native
Melanesians for its cleansing qualities.
Ash particles are finely crushed and may be as small as 1/1,000th of an inch (or 0.025mm). The ash does not dissolve in water and so makes for a fantastic, mild exfoliant. We also use volcanic ash in our foot scrubs and body scrubs because of its protection and cleansing qualities.
|
However, volcanic ash mixed into the earth will bond to water, under pressure. Pure ash, mixed with spring or mineral water, is used to create mud baths (like in a spa) and facial mud masks

NOTE:
While
Volcanic Ash can be very benefical for your skin, it is important
to realize that where you have an erupting volcano, the plumes
of volcanic ash cloud can cause extensive damage even if you
live quite a long distance away. Combined with water, this
ash turns to mud and often results in mud slides and the consequent
loss of life and property.
If
you live anywhere near an active volcano, you may be susceptable
to the hazards of volcanic ash - anything from substantial
interference with the operations of mechanical devices or
motors to collapsing roofs due to the weight of falling ash.
